The Marshall University Innovation Catalyst (MUIC) Program is a free internal professional development program for Marshall faculty, staff, administrators, and student leaders that trains them on how to apply design thinking to rapidly develop delightful solutions for pressing unsolved challenges that Marshall students face inside and outside of the classroom. This program is inspired by the Innovation Catalyst program at Intuit, a leading financial technology firm. MU Innovation Catalyst trainees will learn Intuit’s special version of design thinking known as Design for Delight (D4D).
The MUIC program also has a separate training for university administrators such as VPs, Directors, Deans, and Chairs known as the Marshall University Innovation Strategist (MUIS), that trains them on how to strategically create a culture of continuous student-centered innovation within their unit. MU Innovation Strategists will learn how to leverage MUICs in their area, create an innovative strategic plan on a page that aligns with the University, allocate resources that empower their teams to meet current demands while also innovating for the future, and more.
